I was supposed to be back in LA last night for a big work day today… But life got in the way! Alas… I am stuck in such a horrible place as Laguna Beach ;).

As I dip my toes in the sand, I find this piece of news quite interesting:  Via CocoPerez, Rachel Zoe is planning on opening a salon called DreamDry, an “unprecedented, highly personalized service” that will “take the blow-dry concept to the next level.” Hmmm. I love what Rachel does, because she does it well (clothes and styling), but I am extremely skeptical of this new venture (and I find the name kinda cheesy).

Not only does it seem like a blatant copy of the übersuccessful DryBar (I guess this remains to be seen), but like Alli Webb stated in my interview with her, “success comes from sticking with what you know”.

Do you think Rachel is dipping her perfectly manicured toes into an already overly saturated pool of salons with a concept that is not truly her own? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

… And I wonder what Alli thinks of this new bit of competition? If you haven’t read my interview, check it out here: Don’t Call It A Salon… It’s a DRYBAR baby!
