Wow Lovelies!
This week has been MAJOR busy… as witnessed by the absence of posts on this blog. GAH… so frustrating! But on the flip side? I designed a window for the La Cienaga Design Quarter Legends 2014… and what an honor that has been! My first round of pics and commentary coming atcha on Monday…
I usually have a Mother’s Day Gift Guide, but in all honesty… It usually includes the same Trifecta… flowers, jewelry, and some sort of spa treatment/blowout/moment away from the chaos. Believe me… we appreciate it all…
… but what I appreciate even more… and what, (actually who) deserves all sorts of gratitude this year, is my mom. Not that she doesn’t deserve her own blog post each and every year… but this year she has probably done more for me than when she actually pushed me out of her lady bits.
I can’t go into it all… but she’s put in some major time and emotional commitment (including weekly drives to Los Angeles to help me with my newly expanded family). She carried me whole-heartedly through a rough patch, and proved to me again that she is the purest example of the kind of unselfish human being that is… well… a mom. And I don’t know if I can thank her enough.
… but that’s the funny thing about moms. I’m not even sure if it’s gratitude we seek, because ultimately WE are so grateful for this opportunity we are given. I feel this every time I take the time to savor the moments, the smiles, the laughter, and even the tears with MY babies.
… and when your “baby” is forty years old with a family of his/her own? I believe you are still grateful to be the one with the opportunity to be there.
At least my mom is.
… and there ain’t no gift guide with a hyperlink to buy that shit.
Cuz it’s priceless.
