These past few weeks have been a bit tough on my little family (including me) with some bugs being passed around. I hate to apologize for my absence here… but life happens!
I’m trying to reboot, re-energize and get rid of the “blahs” (both physically and mentally), so I thought… let’s have a BIG giveaway!!! Like… 6 giveaways leading up to Valentine’s Day… with lots of love stories to inspire and warm us up.

My husband, Sam, and I rescued our dog, Dolly, on a rainy day in December. She was outside in a shelter huddled with another dog for warmth. It was love at first sight. Except for one thing… her name was Berta! I always loved the name Dolly because of Dolly Parton, but more because it’s the sweetest name and she’s the sweetest dog. She has human eyes. And she’s a cuddler. If we don’t shut our bedroom door at night, we’ll wake up with her body literally wedged between us, her head resting on one of our pillows. She has such personality. That’s not to say she’s a perfect angel — she frequently makes enemies on walks and is a bit of a princess (she refuses to sit on hardwood floors). Above all else, Dolly loves love — getting it and giving it. She is unconditional love personified, and there’s no better feeling than coming home, opening the door, and seeing that little butt wiggling so hard she’s actually smacking herself in her face with her tail!
