I love holidays… and I LOVE a great tablescape… but I am also a very busy mom at the moment, with limited help, so throwing anything elaborate is out of the question. It’s also summer… so let’s keep things simple… but VERY pretty 😉 .

I skipped over to whole foods and picked out some greenery. I wanted to limit the color palette to green, white, beige and a few smart pops of red. Nothing too “themey”…

To zhush up a simple glass of lemonade… I added a sprig of thyme!

Table runner = craft paper that I already had at home… (Murphy Deesign tip: keep craft paper around at ALL times… it will come in handy for classic styling moments more often than you know!).

… like to wrap the Caprese sandwich in… which just happened to adhere nicely to my green, white, beige and a pop of red rule.

… and what’s more classically summer than watermelon? Maybe ice cream. But we’ll save that battle for another soiree.

Simple food. Simple styling. Guest swooning still guaranteed!

… and that adorable candle? It’s from MakersKit, and it smells delish. I’ll be taking over the MakersKit Instagram account, Friday through Sunday. Hop on over to see what else I’ve made and how I’ll be spending this 4th of July!
