I have been SO on board with the big, bold, beautiful trend of mural inspired wallpaper that has hit our Blogs, Instagrams and Pinterest pages over the past year… so much so that it just KILLS me to have a rental! But that MIGHT just change soon… more on this subject to come (hopefully in the next few months)!

In preparation for an impending move, and dreaming and scheming away… I have already imagined my new entry, dining room and living areas (of course tweaking and editing every time I open up Photoshop)… and ONE thing is certain… I WILL have a mural (in some form) in my new home. Hands down. No questions asked. Signed, sealed, delivered and papered.

What makes these wallpapers so beautiful… is that similar to an actual hand-painted mural… the scale is big, the design is scenic, and the result is show stopping!

This absolutely swoon worthy nursery design by Emily Henderson, above, takes “forest geek” (wallpaper mural by Rebel Walls), and tweaks it into “girly chic” with just a few beautiful accents and a cloud-like shag rug.

I’d never leave!

I’ve had my eye on this amazing pattern by Nathalie Lété (Bakeri, featured in Design Sponge) for quite some time, and it’s still a frontrunner for my own personal project. It makes me giddily happy.

Ellie Cashman’s now Insta-famous florals … the one that inspired this photoshoot with Avery… have always been a HUGE favorite of mine… and still are… but now I fear the pattern is a bit too (dare I say!) picked over (sad face).

But great design is great design (I mean seriously… how gorgeous is this office space at the Create Cultivate headquarters?). I might just have to dig a little deeper for something a little more under the radar…

For those of you who’d also like to give mural inspired wallpaper a try… I’ve rounded up some of my favorites below.

1. Ellie Cashman: Needs no introduction. It’s the bomb.com.

2. Anthropologie is killing the mural game with so many gorgeous options from top-notch designers, and some really rave reviews (of course there are some questionable ones too, but not enough to make me waver on any of my decisions). I have my sights set on two designs 😉 . This large scale floral might be one of them.

3. Another enchanting Anthro option.

4. Bellwood by Rebel Walls.

5. Nathalie Lété, featured at Anthropologie.

6. Sea Spray, by Flat Vernacular. Check out the full reveal on their site. You could go in quite a few directions with this paper (beachy, modern, masculine).

7. Delft, by Susan Harter (STUNNING classic murals with no repeat!).

8. One last magical mural from… you guessed it… Anthropologie.

9. Sara Sugarman Brenner, from Lulu & Georgia worked directly with artist Samantha Santana to create a signature paper for her daughter’s (Emily Henderson designed) nursery. It’s called Vivian Mae, of course!

10. For the boys in the hood, you just can’t go wrong with a map… and this one’s from Target… SCORE.

11. Larger than life animal murals from Bien Fait.

12. One more for the modern boy… graffiti stripes by Timorous Beasties.
