My lil one spent the weekend in Laguna Beach with Mimi and Pop Pop (lucky fella), which means I got to catch up on work, cleaning, and most importantly… reading at a somewhat leisurely pace ;). On the top of my list was the August issue of Lonny Magazine.
One spread that particularly caught my eye, was the feature of Kristi and Chris Bender’s Los Angeles home, designed with the help of Wendy Schwartz. I hadn’t seen Wendy’s work previously, and I was WOWED! She is fearless and fun, and I love the use of geometry and variation of shapes throughout her spaces (sound familiar? Taking Sides…).
Many of the pieces are her own design and can be custom made too. Brows through Cuff Home for some truly unique finds.
I’ve pulled a few pics from Lonny and added a few more from Wendy’s portfolio. Check out her self-described “down to earth edge” below! BRAVO Wendy!
Circles and squares and… holy wallpaper Batman!
Here’s a closer look…
This was the pic that pulled me in! The mix of metals, shapes and textures is brilliant… it’s both playful and edgy, but not “in-your-face”.
I see some 80’s influence here… but in the BEST possible way :)…
A dreamy hallway leads to a girl’s dream come true…
Cool stools and pops of color…
Black on black elements mixed with vintage cool and a slab of white…
Always an interesting shape to spot… check out the sconce… LOVE!
