… that’s how I felt this past week. I wish it was as easy to pull yourself together as it is to tidy up with these clutter free cuties.
Seriously… I’ve been seeing a resurgence of the “basket”… and they are cool and collected (like I want to be). I normally like to keep my storage hidden, but with a kiddo and all the “things” that come with him, storage solutions now take the spotlight (as much as it pains me to admit it). But think modern and even masculine (I shy away from “country” and kid-centric colorblocked plastic).
Here are a few of my faves…
I grabbed this guy off of Pinterest, which linked to Joss and Main. I searched to no avail, but maybe someone out there has seen him before? He’s like a cozy sweater ready to wrap up your day… I wouldn’t mind having him around my goods ;).
I have a vintage 60’s/70’s era metal etagere in my son’s room that has HUGE spaces to fill, and the large vintage canvas storage bins from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child fit the bill. The classic canvas and stripe combo will always look cool… and should carry him through school and beyond…
The West Elm Woven Felt Baskets are textured and cool enough to display… but muted enough to hide away. Me likey.
The ubiquitous Serena & Lily Senegalese Storage Baskets have been on every designer’s “must haves” for a while now… and for good reason. They are a design trifecta!… produced by artisans, made from recycled and natural products, and super stylish to boot!
As mentioned above, I tend to run from decor that screams “I have a child!”, but the bins and boxes from 3 Sprouts are just the right mix of cute and cutting edge. I have an elephant for my son, but this peacock is girly perfection, right?!
I bought these beauties from Plastica on West 3rd Street for the toys that take residence in our living room. I adore the yellow stripe and would have purchased them all, but alas… they only had one…
This Terrain Color Faded Felted Basket is a piece of art! I’ll take 3 please!
