I mentioned at the end of my blog post last week that one of the rooms in my Pearl Street project gave me a little run for my money… and that would be this beauty… the Pearl Street LIVING room!

A few things were VERY clear.

1. The client LOVED this gorgeous lime wash blue paint from Portola in Wellfleet.

2. The sofa from Lawson Fenning was a slam dunk.

3. Re-tiling the fireplace in the Cle Matte Subway tile in Weld was an instant hit.

… but the chairs and coffee table on the opposite end of the sofa were on a merry-go-round of design decisions… and nothing ever felt. quite. right.

What changed it all (or at least pointed us in the right direction?)… This bright and happy, vintage rug from Coco Carpets!

I knew it would be BOLD going orange and blue, but I knew how much my client loved this jaunty hue, and her smile told me everything when the rug was brought in.

I layered it on a natural fiber piece, and the result was warm, cozy and “elevated boho”… just what  the doctor ordered!

From there, I pulled out those raspberry accents, and picked out the swing arm from Nickey Kehoe, as well as the throw pillows.

The roman shade and curtain fabric are from Hollywood At Home.

That swing arm needs a close up… so here she is 🙂 .

… and here are some more fun details.

I love this room. It’s eclectic, it’s fun, it’s textural… and it’s unique.

… and just like that child that tends to push your buttons… it’s the “spicy” one that secretly becomes your favorite!

Next up? The dining room and entry!
