My little man Parker wants to be a superhero (don’t we all?)… and a long time ago, I told him his mommy was 😉 ).

While some of us superheroes stop flying, and flipping (and pounding and crunching)… others go on to perform amazing feats in shows like Cirque du Soleil and De La Guarda. My fellow UCLA Gymnastics Team alum, Carmen Curtis, is just one of those special people. She and her husband Gregg are extraordinary performers and creative artists… and besides performing in said shows… founded The Aerial Studio in Ventura, CA.

I visited Carmen last year when Parker was barely past walking… and I vowed to come back when I knew he could tackle the trampoline with gusto and fly through the air like Buzz Lightyear.

I also knew that in the meantime, Carmen had conceived and established AIReal Yoga, a phenomenal class that uses a looped fabric (hammock) that swivels on a single point combined with traditional yoga moves to deepen your stretch, correct your alignment, and help you to safely perform inversions. You can bet your yoga booty I wanted to give that a go too…

LA moms… this post is for you! Ventura is only ONE HOUR away. After the short drive, YOU take AIReal Yoga, while your child gets to be a superhero for an hour, playing in the school (with qualified babysitters on watch)! Pack him/her in the car when you’re done. Kiddo… happy and exhausted = napping. Mommy… stretched out and stress free to infinity and beyond!

Of course there is more to explore… Aerial Fitness, Family Circus, Power Barre, Flying Tots, Boys Superhero Training, and more (check schedule here).

Just check your “day clothes” at the door…
