We are more than half way through the Spring ORC, and I am DYING to get my kitchen back!!!

I texted my team member Stephanie the other evening… and I told her “I CAN’T FIND SHIT… I’m about to lose my mind!”… as I wandered around my dining room/makeshift “camp” and living room trying to piece together school lunches for my kiddos the next morning!

I feel a bit as if I’m losing control…

… but I am GRATEFUL. GRATEFUL I tell you (I really am 🙂 ).

Last week… it was ALL about the beautiful Cle Tile slate floor, and it was worth the wait (although a bit stressful because we couldn’t really start anything else).

This week we started with my Ross Allan Reclaimed wood clad ceiling!

If you remember… this was kind of a last minute decision on my part. I had originally wanted to add some sort of wood beam situation to the ceiling, but Ross and Georgie said our cabinetry would interfere with that dream.

They suggested the full cladding, and I am OH SO HAPPY I went in this direction!

You can’t tell in this photo, because painting and tiling haven’t happened yet… but I am going for a somewhat monochromatic look between the counter, backsplash and cabinetry.

The wood on the ceiling warms things up dramatically… and it’s just what the space needed!

I shouldn’t be giving you this much of a sneak peek, but here you go!

You’re welcome.

Yesterday the cabinets were painted in Portola Paint’s Stone 1, as Jim began to install the backsplash tile.

This is my first time using this white, and I am so in love!

As evidenced above, we removed all of the hardware (some folks are sad about this, because they loved the black knobs and pulls)…

… but trust me when I say that the new brass “jewelry” from Emtek… on this paint… is DELICIOUS.

(I also shouldn’t be giving you a glimpse of this insane vintage stool from 1st Dibs… but she snuck in there… so there you go).

The new knobs and pulls paired with the other brass accents (on the stove, built in shelf, pot rack, and more)… will give this kitchen just the right amount of elevated + sophisticated that I am looking for!

Thankfully this backsplash is not as complicated as the floor…

… although I might be adding a little tweak to make things more interesting.

How are you guys feeling?

Are you as excited as I am?

… because I stand at the kitchen doorway staring at my team as they work like I’m stalking them.

I think it makes them slightly uncomfortable.

… but that’s what happens when you start to see the images in your head become a reality.

… and we are headed to that reality in just TWO WEEKS!

I have PILES of accessories and an 80lb light fixture just WAITING to get their starring moment (yes… you heard that right).

Tune in next week for a final update before the big reveal (and a home cooked meal… thank the lord).

Make sure you have caught up with each week here, here, and here… and as always… see what my fellow designers are up to!

xoxo
